Cheryl L. Davis

An award winning writer and playwright, Cheryl’s work has been read and performed nationally and internationally. In addition to receiving a 2009 Writers’ Guild Award, Ms. Davis was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for her work as a writer for the daytime dramatic series “As the World Turns”.

Cheryl Hall

Director

Cheryl Hall teaches at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in the Theatre Department. A winner of the prestigious Lois S. Gerren Award for Excellence in Scenic Design, Cheryl received her MFA in Scenic Design from the University of Arizona. Cheryl was also one of the stars of the radio drama series Bodylove.

Jorge Cacheiro

Story Executive

Jorge has been a director, writer, and educator since receiving his MFA in Directing from Yale University in 1987. He has directed work across the US, and internationally. Jorge’s work has been recognized and honored by several organizations, including the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), the Theater Communications Group, the Andrew Mellon Foundation, and the New York State Arts Council.  In September 2011, he was named Chair of the Performing Arts Department at Pace University.

Connie L. Kohler, DrPH

Co-Producer

Connie L. Kohler, DrPH, is a professor of health behavior at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Public Health. Dr. Kohler’s research for the last 25 years has focused on the use of health communication in the prevention and self management of chronic diseases, including tobacco use prevention and cessation. Dr. Kohler has developed seven radio dramas based on the Entertainment Education approach of Miguel Sabido, one of which, BodyLove, was the first US-based programs of its kind to be widely disseminated.

Brenda Campos

Co-Producer

As Programs Director at PCI Media Impact in NYC, Brenda travels the world developing entertainment education campaigns. Her production experience includes scriptwriting, production and post-production work on short films, animations and documentaries. For two years she held a scholarship from the Manhattan Neighborhood Network, and during this time produced a documentary television program called Tepeyac Television Service, which depicted the lives of Latino immigrants in New York. Brenda holds a degree in Communication Sciences from ITESO, the Jesuit University of Guadalajara.

Dr. Clarissa Fells Smith

Program Host

Dr. Clarissa Fells Smith is the award winning host of The Caregiving Doctor Show on Heaven 610 AM WAGG. She is a licensed occupational therapist, author of 20 family caregiving booklets, caregiving ministry manuals, 15 caregiving kids books, a national published columnist.

Shermetria Massingale

Program Coordinator

Shermetria Massingale is the Program Coordinator for the radio drama. She is a graduate student at UAB in the School of Public Health in Health Behavior.  While she is the newest “kid on the block” at Media for Health, she is no stranger to the radio drama, as she was the research assistant for the piloting of the Spanish Language Radio Drama, Promesas y Traiciones.

Regina Waller

Magazine Show Coordinator

As former broadcast and print journalist, Regina Waller is also a Media and Public Relations professional.  Her wealth of experience has garnered her roles as a senior communications leader with organizations and educational institutions around the southeast.  In her role with Media for Health, Regina serves as the Magazine Show Coordinator, assisting Dr. Clarissa Smith, the Caregiving Doctor in bringing the Camberwell stories to the airwaves.  With an undergraduate degree in Journalism, and her MBA, Regina is currently working on a doctorate degree in Business Administration Leadership.
